Join a leading radar technology company as a Radar Systems Engineer, developing advanced algorithms using Mathcad and Matlab while taking a hands-on approach to validating designs in the lab. Key skills required for this role RADAR Systems experience Important RADAR, Matlab / Mathcad Job description Our client, a pioneering company in the cross-sector technology industry, is seeking a talented Radar Systems Engineer to join their dynamic team. In this permanent role, you will play a crucial part in developing innovative radar systems, regularly updating existing designs, and driving new product advancements. With a focus on maximising the performance and characteristics of radar technologies, this position requires a knowledgeable and mathematically adept individual. Key Responsibilities: Working closely with the Senior Engineering team to develop new radar products Specifying hardware architecture, RF performance characteristics, waveform design, and DSP algorithms Owning and extending existing radar models to incorporate new features and capabilities Conducting radar trials analysis and preparing antenna calibration data Prototyping and validating algorithms before implementation Analysing trials data to verify and characterise the performance of existing and prototype radars Participating in field trials in the UK and occasionally overseas Contributing to technical leadership and team communications Job Requirements: Mathematics, engineering, or physics degree Strong mathematical and analytical skills Experience in radar system design or satellite communication system design Understanding of the radar equation and its influence on radar architecture, waveform design, and signal processing methods Knowledge of multi-function radar design and/or phased-array antenna design Understanding of real-world radio effects such as multipath, weather, and clutter Proficiency in Matlab, Mathcad, or similar software Preferred/Desirable Requirements: Familiarity with microwave waveguide structures and electromagnetic (EM) simulation Experience with RF Pro or Keysight SystemVue Involvement in patent preparation Active involvement in the radar industry through seminars or generating papers Benefits: Opportunity to work on pioneering radar technology Professional development and career advancement opportunities Collaborative and innovative work environment Support for hybrid working with required office presence Comprehensive employee benefits package Contact: marcus.roberts@matchtech.com
